I was going to do something I've never done...a link dump. I've decided against it though. Instead, I'm going to be giving you gothy/creepy/cool stuff to check out over days instead of throwing it all in one post. Some things just deserve more attention than a link dump. :)
The first find is:
This company specializes in perfume oils and they have some pretty unique options. Below are some of the scents I came across.
June Gloom 2009 - Bright summer flowers, fresh herbs, and a bit of citrus rind dampened by the scent of morning mist and rain.
Pink Plastic Flamingo - Pink sugar-crusted marshmallows, dandelion, and sap.
Blood - Essence of dragon's blood resin, thickened with myrrh and cherry, with a trickle of clove.
Burial - The Dark Side of Earth: deep, brooding forest scents, including juniper and patchouli. The scent of upturned cemetery loam mingling with floral offerings to the dead.
They even have scents based off of Neil Gaiman's work as well as Alice In Wonderland scents. The March Hare smells like "A twisted teatime tart: apricot and sweet clove". Yum!
According to their Web site, they open an actual shop on every full moon. If that falls on a weekday, they open from 7pm to 10pm. Sounds magical, eh? They do tend to joke a bit on their site so not sure if that part is true. This part is true, however...
With the exception of the products that contain honey, their items are vegan. They are all cruelty free. This is the best part, in my opinion.
They do tend to be a bit pricier but that's because you're getting a concentrated oil, they use really good ingredients and don't test on animals.
The second find I have to share is for all you gamers out there. I was closing out of a game the other day and saw this ad. I thought it was fake but when I looked it up online, it was real and pretty freakin' awesome. Check it out...
You can get Mana and Health potions. They're energy shots that are stocked full of vitamins! To get more info on what they're all about, click here. I plan on buying some once I have some moolah to spend.
More cool finds to come soon!

omg game geeks everywhere are probably ordering up those drinks like crazy. i have a friend who owns a comic book store. i wonder if he's heard of this. he could prob sell a case in a minute flat at one of his game nights.
and that first place. i just love how descriptive they are! i need extra $ to buy me something i don't really need from there. :)
and very awesome that they are cruelty free! i just got lucky to try out some new skin care stuff that is also cruelty free and vegan and that made me super happy. i'll let you know how i like it.
thanks for the links! look forward to some more!
Diane - I bet your friend would definitely be interested in knowing about these! They'd be good for business, I'm sure.
I know what you mean about the first place. Part of my reservations is not being able to smell it before you buy it.
I bought the Alba brand of skincare recently, which is vegan and it made me break out. :( It's hard to find good products that are also cruelty-free. I'm definitely interested in hearing how your stuff works out!
Marketing scents always gets me curious. Sometimes the scent combinations match the titles, and sometimes I'm thinking "really?".
Interesting link regardless :)
first I have to say that that was a great blog entry. I really enjoyed all the information, how it was written and presented (the graphic designer in me talking.)
Thanks!
I have used their scents, you always have me at the words "Neil Gaiman" :) They are worth every penny. I have several of the Good Omens inspired scents. Love them!
Being a vegetarian because of my love for animals I by as many cruelty free products as I can. If there is a store in your area, you should try LUSH.
They are from the UK, but they opened stores here in the US 8 years or so ago. (save me filling up a suit case full of bath products on my trips home from the UK!) They are primarily made in the local store - and they are almost always vegan.
I love their face masks, they are so fresh you have to keep them in the fridge.
Their bath bars are my favorite with Blue Skies being first...and the most expensive. But so worth it.
On that note, they are expensive, but if you go to the store, they will make you samples for free. That way you can try it before you commit the money.
Sorry, droning on and on...I will go now.
Cheers!
Very cool! How many mana and health potion have I drunk in the past 20 years in video games... I bet a lot. This is definitively good names for energy drink for gamers! A wise marketing decisions. I will talk about this product to one of my friends. He runs an Internet Cafe in my city. Most people going there are gamers so they would probably buy some.
Thanks for sharing these links!
Great link! I've always been interested in oils and such, and am just beginning to explore them. Love the clever, evocative names, too. The mana potions sound interesting as well!
Ghoul Friday - I know what you mean.
Frog Queen - Glad the graphic designer enjoyed my post! :) I'm a fan of Neil Gaiman myself. He's the Tim Burton of the book world, in my opinion. Love it!
I did a search for Lush and unfortunately I don't have one by me BUT I can order online! :) I LOVE learning about new products that don't test on animals. Thanks for the tip!
PumpkinBrain - OMG, I've drunk too many to count! Diablo is my favorite game and man do you go through the potions! I bet your buddy would go through those like hotcakes in his cafe.
Riverwolf - I've dabbled in oils before and really enjoyed them. I think I tend to stick with regular perfumes/sprays just because they're more abundant in stores. Now that I have this place, I'll have to do some shopping!
What a cool collection of links! (If I do say myself, being one of the Mana Energy Potion guys ;-))
Aaron - Greetings Mana Energy Potion guy! ha ha Thanks for stopping by!
