Mother's Day gift and birthday stuff.

I always make my mom something for Mother's Day and this year, I picked a cross-stitch pattern. Keep in mind that this is for my mom and we are complete opposites so instead of vampires and gothy stuff, which I would prefer, it's all bright colors and fluffy stuff. : ) Below is the finished product framed and all. You can see it better if you click on the pic. One of these days I need to get a better camera cuz' I would have preferred to take the pic without the flash but without it, every picture comes out with a yellow hue. Bleh.

UPDATE 6/25/2009: I removed a good chunk of this post due to blog content changes.

this is really cute! I really wish I knew how to do this kind of stuff! I'm sure your mother will love it.

How long did it take to do? I only ask because it looks quite detailed...

oh yes, fluff indeed! but you did a great job and the frame is pretty. i have no patience for things such as cross stitch.. :(

i am right there with you on the parents thing. love em, but don't like em much at all... mine especially when they are together!

good luck on your interview!!

I'm sorry your mother and father are like that Dracenea. Especially your mom-that is NOT cool to not even mention your b-day when you asked about hers. :(

You know what? Your dad kinda sounds like my dad-I could imagine him getting whiny if I didn't want to see him on MY day. Don't stress too much before the interview (if you read this beforehand)...take a few breaths before you go in-remember that!

That is very sweet of you to make that for your mom-great job & that's so nice of you considering what you've said about her.
OMG, are you serious?! Your mom doesn't like gothy stuff!?? Ha ha...just messing.

Take care & happy "early" birthday! Hope it's as stressfree as possible.

{And YES, you got me into RYAN...now just look what you've done!} ;}

That does suck! My son goes through that sometimes. He was born at the end of November and sometimes his birthday lands on Thanksgiving! We go away sometimes, for that holiday and it sucks for him. I TRY so hard to separate it but sometimes (With family out of state) we try and kill one bird with two stones - he does get to his his grandparents on both sides though considering We all live in different states.

I love that flower picture! You have to make one gothic just to show it to your blogging friends, like me! I would love to see something like that!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TwasTheBrillig - I love cross-stitching! I've been doing it off and on for years. This project took about a week working on it a couple hours each day. The pattern was weird so I had to modify some of it.

Diane - I got the frame at Hobby Lobby because they were all 50% off. I snagged this one for less than $8. Gotta' love a good deal!

My parents are divorced now, which is great, so I don't have to see them together any more. All they did was bitch!

My interview is in an hour...can't wait!

Draven - Good quote! Thanks for the birthday wishes. : )

Eve - Yeah my mom has become pretty self-centered but that's okay as long as she stays in her world and leaves me alone! I always make her something for Mother's Day because I do love her, despite everything.

That sucks that you can relate to my dad because of yours. One of them is enough for this world!

Thanks for the early birthday wishes!

Dreamwriter - At least you try to separate the birthday thing. I think that's all anyone can ask for when their birthday lands near another special day.

I definitely plan on doing a spooky cross-stitch soon. I've done a couple Halloween ones in the past. I can post a pic of those later tonight.

Thanks for the big birthday wishes! : )
