Alice in Wonderland dolls/toys and Life Updates

Well, I didn't get the job. It would have been nice because the starting pay was good, it was in a field that I'm used to and the benefits were good. But...I would have been spending a lot on gas money due to the commute, the job would have entailed dealing with upset and mean people all day and it was in banking, which I would like to get out of considering this economy. So all in all, it's okay.

Last week, I was picking up something at a shop and the girl at the register and I started talking. Another employee came up and during our conversation, it came out that I used to work at that employer but in another location. They asked what I did there and when I told them, they said that they were hiring and that I was exactly what they're looking for. That was interesting to me because I had been in there not long ago and was told they weren't hiring. Apparently they were but were looking for certain people. I guess my conversation with them was enough to get the ball rolling. I came back the next day and dropped off my app and resume. The employee that I had talked to previously was there and said that she was going to get her manager because she wanted me to meet her. The manager told me that she would run my info, check my record, etc and get back with me in a couple days. I'm really hoping to hear something Monday. I loved working for that company and the people at the shop are super friendly, which is great. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this one!

Last night I posted some cool toys and said I'd be back with more today. The detail and emotion that artists can portray on these dolls is pretty amazing. The below pics are from Pipos, a doll shop. I'll be showing another doll maker's creations in a post tomorrow.

Cheshire Cat - I love this version of him!

The White Rabbit

Doesn't the gray rabbit look so sweet?

Diane - Yeah, the job kinda' sounds like a slam dunk but who knows these days. Thanks for crossing your fingers AND toes for me! I'm doing the same thing so we'll both be walking around kinda' funny for a couple days. : )

StopMe - Of all the pics I posted, I must admit that the Cheshire does have that creepy cute look to him. Especially with his claws out!

Sorry about the job but it looks like things might turn around. Cool! What kind of shop/place is this possible new job at? Best of luck & let us all know what happens.

Those toys are...AWESOME. I like 'em all but the Cheshire Cat is my fave. Great detail. I looked at it & thought "That is what Tim Burton's version (of kitty) should look like." That would RULE!

Ha ha, I'm not creeped out by those toys/dolls. As you know, I sleep with a bunch of LDD's (including Bathory) above me (on shelves). But hm, that reminds me...when I lived at my parents I dreamed that my LDD's where laughing (like hearing kids on a playground)...kinda creepy. I didn't see 'em in my dream though-just voices...could've been lucid dreaming. I was never quite sure.

OOOooo, can't wait to see the other stuff you found! Heyyy, you're supposed to let me know about this stuff in advance...ha ha. J/K
Take care~

Eve - It's a dine-in restaurant that does delivery too. I'd be doing delivery and cooking, if I got the job. It'd be pretty sweet because most of the time, I'd just be cruisin' around in my car. I last worked there about 8 years ago and it was a blast!

I totally agree that Tim Burton's cat should look a lot like that one. I can't wait to see what he does with the movie!

I'll be posting more doll pics tonight but first I have to do Sunday Stealing.

Crossing my fingers and toes for you (and the digits of props too)! Goes to show, it's not what you know, it's who you know!
